Rückseite: ROM ET AVG. Altar von Lugdunum mit der Bürgerkrone (corona civica) zwischen Lorbeerzweigen und zwei Figuren in der Relieffront. Aussen stehen sich erhöht zwei Kränze haltende Victorien gegenüber.

Kommentar: Durch Livius (Periochae 139) wird überliefert, dass, nachdem Nero Claudius Drusus den Aufruhr in Gallien beigelegt hatte, er 12 v. Chr. einen Altar für Roma und Augustus am Zusammenfluss von Rhone und Saone in Lugdunum weihte. Von Sueton, Claudius 2,1, wird zudem der 1. August als Datum genannt, der Tag an dem auch Kaiser Claudius Geburtstag hatte. Die Rückseite der Münze gibt mit der corona civica und den Lorbeerbäumen Ehrungen des Augustus wider, die ihm 27 v. Chr. zuteil wurden. Deshalb sind die beiden Figuren auf dem Altar als Laren anzusprechen, die innerhalb der Augustus-Ikonographie häufig auftreten.
