Charm of beads, thrown from parade is hard to resist even to watchful NOPD officer who found beads after parade passed crowded street

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans are century old traditions, where crowds gather to catch beads, doubloons, and other items that are thrown from parades. Krewes of Mardi Gras spend year preparing for this weekend. Streets are covered with locals, tourists from all over the world to watch this spectacle of decorated floats in hope to catch some beads, or any other items, many of witch are highly praised collectables (e.g. Zulu parade is known by their hand painted coconuts, Muses by decorated high heel shoes). Even New Orleans Police officers on duty are not immune to this charm of beads, and often after parade has passed will reach and grab few beads joining the celebrations. Contrast of armed officer ands streets covered with beads and other trash is just visually shocking, but descriptive of what Mardi Gras is.
