Summary[edit]
DescriptionThree Storied Stone Pagoda at Bulguksa (South Korea) 001.jpg |
English: Three Storied Stone Pagoda at Bulguksa. National Treasure 21. Location: 15-1, Jinhyeon-dong, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The description on the sign next to the pagoda says: "This 10.63m-tall pagoda is typical of three storied stone pagodas built during the Unified Silla period. The name "Seokgatap" or "Muyeongtap" is directly opposite to the "Dabotap" standing on the east. Its official name is "Seokga Yeorae Sanju Seolbeoptap", based on the belief that Dabo Yeorae(Prabhutaratna-tathagata) and Seokga Yeorae(Sakyamuni) in Beophwagyeong(Saddharma-pundarika sutra) are preaching side by side and verifying their doctrines." |
