The money received from collection of the assessment comprises thepetroleum and gras fund and is used for the support of the PetroleumDepartment of the State ^rinino; Bureau, and fcr the repair of oil wells.The rates, shown on the accompanying statement and used in determin-ing the various items, are determined in accordance with sections 23, 24.25, 27, 46 and 47 of the said statute. The detailed method is as follows: Tlie amount of money to he raised annually, as provided in section 27.is sufficient to maintain the petroleum and gas fund at an amount notexceeding one hundred fifty thousand dollars. The amount this year isone hundred twenty-eight thousand three hundred seventy-five dollars.One-tenth of the above mentioned .sum of one hundred twenty-eightthousand three hundred seventy-five dollars is levied upon the oil landof the state.
