Memorandum To: Superintendent, Gettysburg National Military Park From: Chief, Division of Special Events Subject: Request for Speaker’s Stand and Chairs This is in answer to your memorandum of July 12 to the Regional Director, National Capital Region, requesting the loan of a platform and chairs for the dedication of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Memorial at Gettysburg on August 25. Arrangements have been made by our personnel to have the following facilities available” A- One (1) stand – 16’ x 24’ – height not over 2 ½’; with railings; stairs; bunting; B- 400 chairs. It is understood that these facilities are to be picked up by Gettysburg personnel. They may be picked up at any time from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on August 20, 1965, at the East Potomac Park Maintenance Yard, 1100 Ohio Drive, S.W., Washington, D.C. It is suggested that three (3) – 1 ½ ton stake body trucks be used in hauling these facilities. Theodore T. Smith
