In no place in the world is there such a network ofsuburban electric road as in and around Boston. Thiswas never more forcibly illustrated than b\- the StreetRailway Guide for Eastern Massachusetts, recentlypublished bv Robert II. Derrah, 286 Washington street,Boston. The accompanying map is reproduced from this guide, and shows how extensive the street railway lines arein that region. The desirability and necessity of such aguide are evident. Thirty-two roads are on the listembraced bj the guide, and the information containedtherein has the official sanction of the roads which areincluded in its pages. The companies use 4,232 motorsand their power stations have a capacity- of 49,656 horse-power.
