The man who made the complaint had been inthe habit of riding on the street cars before he was laidup with paraljsis. The first time he was able to getout on crutches he signaled to the street car driver, butthe latter drove on. The car driver owned up that hesaw the man, but he didnt know that he wanted to ride. The cripple proceeded to the oflice of the companyand made complaint. The driver was ordered to appearbefore the president of the company. Did 3ou see that crippled man? Certainly, I saw him. Did he signal to you with his crutch to stop? I saw him shake his crutch at me, and holler some-thing or other. Why didnt you stop the car? Because I dont think he wanted to ride on the car,for he could go faster on his crutches than on the car.When he shook his crutch I thought he was making fun
