If a conductor leaves his car he first removes the operatinghandle; this as earlier stated automatically prints the totals. Hethen inserts his identification stamp which presents his number onthe record and marks the end of the time that he was in chargeof the car. The new conductor is then given the operating handleand manipulates the register in precisely the same manner as thefirst conductor. By reference to the reproduction of a small portion of the record-ing strip, it will be seen that the totals recorded in the mannerdescribed appear in two columns, this being a record from a double-type register. On the lower portion of the record appear the totalsfor both cash and tickets set off at the top and bottom by a con-ductors identification stamp, No. 10.
