It was not until after five that the lastreturning car reached the hotel, after an afternoon of keenesteiijo\ ment, to which the genial warmth of a hright Octo-ber sun lent special delight. The party included a largenumber of ladies, whose bright costumes and brighter facesadded largely to the charm of the outing. The Theatre Party. Not by halves, but on a broad scale, were all the entertain-ments given her guests by the street railway fraternity of.St. Louis, and henec when the theatre party was givenWednesday evening, nothing less than the entire first floorof the house seemed to satisfy the generous hosts. Theplay, In Gay New York, was very enjoyable, and \\ asgiven in the handsome new play house, the Centurv, which was opened only three weeks previous. The local commit-tee took pains in issuing the tickets that friends and actpiaint-ances were seated together, and the intermissions gave oppor-tunity for pleasant chats. The new house is of good sizeand decorated in extremely good taste, and is one of whicliany city may well be proud. Thursdays Excursion. Among its other big things vSt. Louis boasts the largestbrewery in the world, and at 2 p. m., the visitors took carsfor a ride to inspect the immense plant of the Anheuser-Busch brewery.
