The Hawthorne avenuestation is situated on the North branch of the Chicagoriver about two miles from the heart of the city. It fur-nishes current for the North Chicago lines south of Nortliavenue, and on account of its pro.ximity to the businessdistrict and favorable conditions for current will for thelirst few months at least, furnish power to the dcjwn townend of the Lake street elevated road as soon as that roadis electrically equipped.
