The AllaiUa Consoliilalcd Street Railway Co., of Allanla, Ga.,lia.s recently complclcd eight cars, which are very elaborate, andat the same time, very serviceable for street railway purposes.These cars were built at the companys shops, where 12 more arenow under construction. They were designed by Mr. Thomas El-liott, chief engineer of the company. It was not with an idea that cars from the factory were not goodenough that this company began building its own cars, but withthe three-fold purpose of constructing a car to meet the special le-quirements, of saving the item of freight, and of spending themoney at home. The idea of durability seemed to be uppermost in the mind of thedesigner of these cars.
