Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The site of Withyham station
Withyham station was opened on 1st October 1866, at the same time as the line from East Grinstead to Tunbridge Wells. It was closed on 2nd January 1967 and the route is now followed by the Forest Way. Further east the line is still open as the preserved Spa Valley Railway. The road beyond leading up to Balls Green and Withyham is still called Station Road. In this photograph taken from the Forest Way, the old platform edge is level with the hedge. The level crossing was ahead where the railway crossed Beech Green Lane and Station Road.
