In Corinth there was a firm of photographers oceui)ying a little woodenshack in the outskirts of the town. They did a thriving business during the occui)ancy by the Confeder-ates and by the Federals. George Armstead was a wonderful photographer—rivaling Brady at his best.In the picture he is standing back to the left, near where some of his negatives are printing in the sun; infront of the shop a drummer-boy stands with folded arms near the civilians who loll against the post.
