Whitcomb, ofHoopeston, and Josephine, the wife of^lout Wolverton. i\Irs. \\illiams was bornin East Rupert, Aermont, in 1844 and camealone to Illinois, being inarried in \\atsekain 1867. For many years Mr. Williams was amember of the Christian church and througha long period ser\-ed as one of its elders.He took a very active interest in church andSunday-school work and his widow nowattends the Christian church, although sheis a member of the Congregational church.For some years prior to his death Mr. \\ill-iams was an in\alid and at length passedaway at his home in Hoopeston on the 27thof January, 1902, his remains being inter-red in Floral Hill cemetery. His life wasever honoraljle antl upright and all who knewhim respected him for his genuine worth.He served as assessor of Prairie Greentownship for four or five consecutive yearsand in all lifes relations he was found trueto the trusts reposed in him and to prin-ciples of upright manhood. i^Irs. She belongs to the WomensChristian Temperance Union and is wellknuwn in temperance and church circles. ISAAC M. REES. Isaac M. Rees, who is engaged in agri-cultural pursuits on section 26, Elwoodtownsiiip, near Ridgefarm, was born nearVermilion Gro\-e in this county, November28, 1840, his parents being John and Sus-annah (Dillon) Rees. In the year 1830 hisliarents arrived in Vermilion county andwere married here. They came with t\\-enty-two others who were members of the Societyof Friends or Quakers and to that faith theyalways adhered.
