It is of plaster of Paris and embraces the arm andforearm only, with a comiecting bridge on the anterior surface.A number of turns of plaster-of-Paris bandage encircle the fore-arm and arm alternately, the bridge being formed of the samebandage as it passes to and fro from the forearm to the arm. As a rule, the patient may leave the bed after the first week.In the movable joint cases daily passive movements in the nor-mal directions may be commenced as soon as healthy granula-tions fill the wound. In injuries cicatrization is under wayin from four to six weeks; in shot injuries the period is longer.
