English: The line of the Roman fortress wall 2009. The paved area between the bollards indicates the line of the Roman fortress wall. The wall was demolished in the Middle Ages when the walls were moved to where they are today overlooking the Roodee. Until recently there was a brass plaque on the wall of the Bank of Scotland building explaining this, but unfortunately, in January 2009, the plaque has disappeared. See also 1140920 and 1140934 from 2008 when the plaque was in place. |
