English: 30.11.2017, 2nd level students involved in hands on science experiment. A student is able to hold a ball of fire in their hands due to methane bubbles. The student will begin by dipping their hands in cold water, this acts as a barrier to the heat generated by the combustion of the methane bubbles. The student will then place their hands into a bucket filled with methane bubbles. After this they will leave their hands out straight for a supervised science teacher to light the bubbles with a lighter and splint. |
