The drafting room at JPL was a restricted area p-42

Summary[edit]

Description
English: In January 1955, the drafting room at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory was a restricted area, indicated by the sign at the bottom of the photo. These draftsmen were most likely drawing parts of guided missiles, such an Sergeant, which was a classified project. JPL began developing Sergeant for the army in the fall of 1954. Drafting has changed a great deal since that time, with the use of computer aided design (CAD) software and on-line storage of engineering drawings and metadata.
