Text from: Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 3 (1893) Lynn, Norwich, Thetford, Yarmouth , p.74[1]: Tablet on the North Side of the Chancel, with Shield tinctured by lines: I. Gules, an orle between eight billets or (Yallop) ; in pretence, Azure, three broad arrows points downwards in fesse or on a chief of the second three Moor's heads couped side-faced sable (Watts). Crest: A caltrap between two wings argent (Yallop). Motto : Auctus non mutat. For "Mr. James Watts, bom in this parish, who died Feb. 27, 1788, aged 80 ; Mary, his wife, who died June 4, 1769, aged 61. James, his eldest son, who died August 13, 1807, aged 63 ; Mary, his daughter, who died Jan 13, 1823; Lydia, her sister, who died Jan. 14, 1823. For more than sixty years they had not been separated one day, and in death as in life they were united. Erected by their only surviving relative, Mary Ann, wife of J. H. Yallop, Esq', daughter of Peter and Mary Watts. She died April 23, 1824, aged 62.*' On a stone, " Peter Watts, died June 7, 1781. and Mary his wife. May 4, 1793, aged 44." |
