G. elliptica (elliptic), rhiz. wide-creeping, woody, sti, naked,1ft. or more in length, fronds soft, 1ft. to lAft. long, 6in. to9in. broad, cut down nearly to the rachis in the upper, andquite in the lower, part into four to six narrow-oblong orelliptic piimaj on each side, sori narrow, oblique, reactiingthe midrib but not the edge. F6ei (Fees), rhiz. wide-creeping, furnished with very brightbrown scales, fronds dimorphous; barren ones Sin. to 4in. long,l^in. to 2in. broad, oblong-ovate, borne on stipes lin. to 3in.long; fertile ones a little longer and narrower, and withshorter stipes; both entire, acute, coriaceous, conspicuouslyveined and smooth on both sides. soH narrow-oblong, insingle rows between the main veins, not reaching either themidrib or the edge.
