The Egyptian Cat is a native of northernAfrica, and was the parent of tlie cat tamedby the Egy^ptians, and nndonbtedly also oneof the originators of onr own house-cats. TheEgyptian Cat is considerably smaller than theEuropean Wildcat. It is of a yellowish color,darker on the back, and very light on the lielly.The stripes on the body are not well marked,though slightl)^ more so on the legs. The tailis slightly ringed.
