Tail. —The tail is thicker than that of theTortoise-shell — especially so at the base —although some Tortoise-shell-and-White Catshave a rather thin tail. The thick tail is, how-ever, preferable. The tail should l)e markedwith l)lack, red, and yellow blotches, and notwhite. Coat—Color and Quality. — The hair issomewhat coarser than in th(> i)ure Tortoise-shell. More white is allowable in the Tortoise-shell-and-White than in the Black-aud-WhiteCat. If the white is entirely distinct, with aclear line of demarcation between it aud theblack, yellow, and red, as exists between theselatter colors, a considerable amount of it is per-missible, and adds to the beauty of the animal.
