Haman^s fall foretold. 9 IT Then went Haman forth that day joyfuland with a glad heart: but when Haman sawMordecai in the kings gate, that he stood notup, nor moved for him, he was full of indigna-tion against Mordecai. 10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself:and when he came home, he sent and calledfor his friends, and Zeresh his wife. 11 And Haman told them of the glory of hisriches, and the multitude of his children, andall the things wherein the king had promotedhim, and how he had advanced him above theprinces and servants of the king. 12 Haman said moreover. Yea, Esther thequeen did let no man come in with the kingunto the banquet that she had prepared butmyself; and to-morrow am I invited unto heralso with the king. 13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so longas I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the kingsgate. 14 IT Then said Zeresh his wife and all hisfriends unto him. Let a gallows be made offifty cubits high, and to-morrow speak
