Theinterior division walls, how-ever, underwent consider-able alteration, as will ap-pear from the description.Twelve Wilson steel rollingdoors were also installed, butsome of the old swingwooden doors were retainedas in the case of the paintshop, because of their largewindow area. The roofs ofthe wheel and machine shopswere reconstructed to securebetter lighting. Referenceto the view of the machineshop will show what excel-ent illumination is now ob-tained. Arc lamps also havebeen installed for night use. Considering now the gen-eral divisions of the build-ings, it will be noted that theoffices of the master me-chanic and the dispatcher,waiting room, crew roomsand storeroom have not beenchanged in any importantrespect. The blacksmithshop, immediately adjoiningthe storeroom, has been en-larged from 510 sq. ft. to1244.45 sq. ft. by adding thespace formerly used as alumber room. This changerequired taking down a 9-in.division wall and buildingtwo 8-in. pilasters for a new z > MH
