s. They are 51 ft. 6 ins. longover bumpers and weigh about 40 tons completely equipped.They have a seating capacity for fifty-eight people. Theinterior is divided into a smoker and passenger compart-ment, both of which are provided with cane seats. Theinterior finish is dark oak. A heater and toilet room islocated in one end, and in the opposite end is a switchcabinet. The cars are built for operation in both direc-tions. In addition to a pantograph trolley over the cen-ter of the car wheel trolleys of the usual type are providedover each truck. The cars are equipped with four Gen-eral Electric 75-hp a. c.-d. c. motors geared for 50miles per hour. The Illinois Traction System, of whichthe Peoria-Bloomington line is one division, is operatedfrom offices in Danville, 111., by L. E.
