PLAN OF NEW SHOP OF INDIANA UNION TRACTION COMPANY AT ANDERSON 556 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. tVoL. XXIX, No. 13. will constitute a paint shop and varnish room and an erect-ing shop. The present shop buildings just north of thiswill be remodeled to serve as a cleaning and inspectionshop and storeroom. The repair shops proper will occupythe easternmost portion of the building. The twelve tracksin this portion will each hold one interurban car. Thearmature room, machine shop and blacksmith shop will belocated at the head of the repair tracks so as to necessitatecarr3ing armatures and other heavy repair parts as shortdistances as possible. An overhead system of car hoistswill be employed which will permit cars over any tracks tobe raised. Locker and toilet rooms for the shop men will be locatedjust east of the stock room, and additional toilet rooms willbe located adjacent to the erecting shop.
