The companyowns Monroe Park on Mobile Bay, where summer opera isgiven for a season of four months, which is said to be thelongest consecutive engagement of any opera company inthe United States. The Park is very popular and is unsur-passed in its equipment and the fine views which may be hadfrom all points. Rice, chief engineer of the Rapid Transit Rail-road Commission, has just rendered a report to President Orrsubmitting the results of an investigation made by him andhis assistants into the subject of headways and efficiency ofservice in the subway.
