Text Appearing Before Image:
orporation Tramways at the extreme easternboundary of Dundee. For part of its length it runs alongthe countrv roads and highways, and for part over a privateright of way to Monifieth. By an arrangement with theDundee Corporation, the cars run over the Corporation linesto the center of the city. The rails are of No. i British standard grooved sectionthroughout, weighing 90 lbs. to the yard, with 96-lb. rails oncurves of short radius. The sharpest curve has a radius of30 ft. At the joints, continuous-rail joints were employed inlieu of the more usual fish-plate; the rails are anchored every22 ft. The bonding is double, with concealed bonds of 4/0section. The special work was supplied by Edgar Allen & 764 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. (Vol. XXVIL No. 19. Company, Sheffield; the switches are 11 ft. long, of cast steel,with a radius turnout of 100 ft. The private right of wayabove mentioned was made 50 ft. wide. This road is fencedon both sides, and the cars are allowed by the Board of Trade
