the passenger cars is 49 ft. 8 ins. in lengthover the bumpers, and is of the St. LouisCar Company steel bottom semi-convertibletype. The remaining one is 48 ft. 2 ins. inlength. Both are provided with Peter Smithhot water heaters and cross seats coveredwith rattan. They are equipped with GENo. 70 motors, K-28-A controllers andChristensen straight-air brakes. The ex-press car is provided with four GE 57motors and two K-14 controllers. As it isemployed to haul railway freight cars, it isprovided with automatic brakes and M. C.B. automatic couplers. With a gear ratio of 16 to 71, the carpulls trains of three loaded coal cars, each of 66,000 lbs. ca-pacity, over a 2J/2 per cent grade without difficulty. It is,however, the intention to reduce the gear ratio. Practically no trouble has been experienced with the elec-trical equipment since the road was put in operation.
