nt wasfurnished by the British Thomson-Houston Company, of Rugby, Eng-land, and consists of B. T. H. typeGE-69 motors, similar to those usedon the other underground trains inLondon. The Sprague-Thomson-Houston multiple-unit system oftrain control is used. Each of thetwo locomotives attached to eachtrain is supplied with four motors,and each motor is of 200 hp, sothat the total per locomotive is 800hp. The combined weight of thetwo locomotives shown in theillustration is about fifty-six tons,or seven tons on each drivingaxle. The weight of the London& Northwestern train, with load, is approximately one hundred and forty tons. *♦* Before the Circuit Court of Monroe, Mich., the Toledo, AnnArbor & Detroit Railway recently won an interesting decisionagainst the Michigan & Ohio Railway Company. This portion of the London & Northwestern Railway Com-panys track has not been equipped electrically, and as the carsused on this line were modern and lighted by electricity, it wasdecided to be unnecessary to change the rolling stock. At thesame time, the managers of the Metropolitan District RailwayCompany naturally did not wish any steam-drawn trains intheir tunnel after their own system of electrification was com-plete.
