In the foreground may beseen the open front of the lamp guard, showing the two lampsin place. Beyond may be seen the roof of a second car, showingthe exterior of the lamp guard, the hooks for retaining thetrolley cord and the sign to be illuminated just above. Thelower hook guard on this particular car is a relic of formertimes, and is not now necessary.
