r the track thus delayed less than a day, certainly a remarkably short timefor such a difficult piece of work. Fig. 13 shows the fill in itspresent condition. The rest of the trestle will be removed asopportunity offers. On the Cazadero line the track crosses four good sizedcreeks, all of which flow through deep canyons. These streamsare bridged by pile trestles which are remarkable for theirheight. That across Eagle Creek, illustrated in Figs. 14 and15, is probably the highest bridge ever built with single piles.The structure is 760 ft. long and crosses the stream 95 ft. above 734 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. (Vol. XXIV. No. 17. the water. The longest pile is 115 ft. in length, and all areset from 12 ft. to 15 ft. in the ground.
