THE AUDITORIUM ON THE OPENING NIGHT director, who will instruct the men in the intelligent use of thegymnasium facilities. Bowling and billiard tournaments willalso be a prominent feature. The educational department will include an instruction roomon the second floor, where the company intends to place askeleton car, to be used for teaching the men the principles ofcar operation. The class rooms on the third floor will be usedfor teaching English, penmanship, arithmetic, electricity,mechanical drawing and music. Classes in each study will beheld about two nights a week. The club house is furnished with an excellent reading room,and an arrangement has been made with the Brooklyn PublicLibrary whereby the latter will establish a branch in thebuilding, placing over 1000 volumes at the disposal of the era-

Plansare also being prepared for a technical library. The building is managed by a committee consisting of thefollowing employees of the company: John Keating (chair-man), conductor on the elevated division; F. A. Overfield, shopforeman; T. J. Clisset, timekeeper; D. S. King, motorman.The greater part of the club house is free to all employees,regardless of membership in the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Em-ployees Sick and Death Benefit Association or the YoungMens Christian Association. The very small fee of $2.00 ayear is charged for use of the educational classes, gymnasium,baths and lockers. The general supervision of the work is in the hands of J.
