STANDARD CLOSED CAR USED IN BUFFALO FOR CITY SERVICE referred to above are those which, on thewhole, have proved themselves best suited tothe traffic conditions in Boston. BUFFALO RAILWAY The standard closed car of the Buffalo Rail-way, which is now part of the InternationalTraction Company, is a double-truck car witha 30-ft. 6-in. body and a length over all of 40ft. 8 ins. The platforms are 4 ft. 3 ins. Thesecars weigh 29,180 lbs. without motors and40,180 lbs. with motors. They have side seats,with a seating capacity of forty passengers.The latest practice is to equip these with airbrakes. A number of electric brakes are in useat Buffalo, also. The company has a separateequipment for summer use. The standardsummer car is on double trucks, and has alength of 42 ft. 11 ins., seating eighty-four pas- STANDARD NINE-BENCH OPEN CAR USED IN BOSTON sengers on fourteen benches.
