As will be seen from the plan, Fig. 14,and also from the interior of one of the carhouses, Fig. 17, all of the entrances, curvesand special work are under cover. Thetriangular spaces left by this arrangementare utilized for lavatories and wash roomsfor the men. One of these is shown in Fig.18. Above these are net-work lockers inwhich the men can keep their shop clothes.HEATING AND VENTILATION The heating and ventilation of the build-ings is done by the hot-air system. Thereare 13-ft. blowers, made by the AmericanBlower Company, of Detroit, Mich., anddriven by 14-in. to i8-in. engines. Theseblowers have a capacity each of 467,300cu. ft. per minute.
