s to attend to. It would be difficult to find a company wherethe rolling stock is more uniform. Most of the cars on thesystem were built by J. M. Jones Sons, of West Troy, andTaylor single trucks, Westinghouse 12-A motors with K-10controllers are standard. There are 193 box cars with 18-ft.to 20-ft. bodies, 158 nine-bench open cars, 6 express cars, 12snow-plows, 6 sweepers and 12 service cars. Providencefenders are used on both ends, and one of the most stringentrules for motormen is that they shall test the fenders bytripping them at the end of each run. For winter servicebetween Albany and Troy the company has purchased eleven38-ft. double-truck cars, built by the J. G. Brill Company, andten more of these have been ordered. These were purchased inanswer to a demand for smoker facilities, and to compete withthe service of steam roads between the two cities.
