On the outskirts of Wash-ington the road connects with the electric railway system, and the plan nowunder consideration will provide for running the trains from the Beach clearinto the heart of Washington. The excursion business is to be developed forthe benefit of visitors to the National Capital. WESTFIELD, MASS.—The Westfield Valley Electric Railway Associationwas an organization founded to do pioneer work toward the building of anelectric railway through the towns of the Westfield Valley. Its mission wasto aggitate, not to undertake, the construction of street railway lines. Out ofit, however, has grown an organization known as the Wetsern MassachusettsStreet Railway Company, which has secured franchises, and promises tocommence construction next spring.
