annon, president, and E. G.Connette, general manager of the SyracuseRapid Transit Railway Company, an-nounced on Wednesday that they hadclosed a deal with C. S. Shepard for thestreet railway system of Oswego, operatedby the Oswego Traction Company. Thedeal is important because of its bearing onthe fight between the Syracuse RapidTransit Company and the Syracuse, Lake-side & Baldwinsville Railway for franchiseright between Syracuse and Oswego, bothcompanies desiring to build a road be-tween the two cities. It is reported thatthe purchase includes all of the first-mort-gage bonds of the Oswego Traction Com-pany, and all but 10 per cent of the capitalstock and second-mortgage bonds. Thecompanys capital stock amounts to $300,-000, the first-mortgage bonds to $100,000authorized and $97,000 issued, and the sec-ond-mortgage bonds to $200,000authorizedand $191,000 issued. The company oper-ates ny2 miles of railway, including allin Oswego, with lines running out toBeach Oswego and Minetta.
