The power station will be near the electrical center ofthe system, and will have a total capacity of about 12,000kw. All of the electrical engineering of the line hasbeen entirely in charge of C. O. Mailloux and W. C. Got-shall, the well-known electrical engineers, and to them isdue the credit for solving the intricate electrical problemsconnected with this work. Mr. Gotshall, the president andchief engineer of the company, is prominent in elec-tric railway circles, having been in 1895 1896 chiefengineer and general manager of the Union Depot Railroadiri St. Louis, and previous to that time chief engineer of theSt. Charles Street Railway of New Orleans. While in St.Louis he installed a three-wire system on the Union Depotsystem. In 1897 he came to New York at the request ofF. S. Pearson, of the Metropolitan Street Railway Com-pany, and had complete charge of the equipment of theSecond Avenue line when it was changed to electric con-duit
