Another Michigan Decision Regarding Grade Crossings Another important decision has just been rendered by the Su-preme Court of Michigan, in the matter of the power and authorityof the Commissioner of Railroads regarding the separation ofgrades at the crossings of electric and steam roads in that State.In the case in which the decision was handed down, an applicationwas made by the Jackson & Suburban Traction Company for theapproval of a grade crossing of its line with the Michigan CentralRailroad on Page Avenue, Jackson TheCommissioner refused to approve a crossingat grade, and ordered that it be made bymeans of an overhead bridge. The tractioncompany and the city of Jackson then joinedin a petition to the Supreme Court for a writof mandainus compel^ng the Commissionerto set aside his order and allow a crossing tobe made at grade.
