endance. THE ST. LOUIS CAR WHEEL COMPANY, of St. Louis,was represented by A. A. Hilton, sales agent for the company. SALVATOR POTIS, formerly chief engineer of the North andWest Chicago Street Railway Companies, was a visitor at theconvention. THE AMERICAN CAR & FOUNDRY COMPANY, whosegeneral offices are now in St. Louis, with manufacturing plantslocated at various points, both East and West, had a very practical exhibit of street car wheels. The exhibit was in charge of ScottH. Blewett, of the home office. A feature of the wheel exhibit wasthe display of finished wheels, with parts broken from their rimsin such a way as to show the strength of the metal used in therims, hubs and spokes, and the depth of the chill. The samplewheels shown included plate wheels for interurban service, platewheels for ordinary city use, and,a new style of key seat designedto save the strength of the axle.
