, No. 0000 wire being used for this purpose.The maximum drop allowed on the feeders is 10 per cent. The power station is of brick and iron, and is at Bridge-port. The building is 112 ft. x 72 ft. 14 ins., and isdivided into the engine room and the boiler room; theformer is 56 ft. x 34 ft. 9 ins., and the latter 56 ft. x 38ft. 5 ins. The engine room contains one Allis engine andone Buckeye engine. The power house is situated nearthe tracks of the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad, and asiding brings coal directly to the bins. One of the enginesis belted to a General Electric generator, and the otherto a Westinghouse generator. With ordinary traffic oneof these units is sufficient to carry the load, and the averageoutput is about 400 h.p. This is when about thirteen carsare in operation. During heavy traffic, however, bothunits are used, the output being about 925 h.p. This issufficient to operate eighteen cars. The switchboard issituated in the engine room, and is built of heavy oak.
