It will be noted that thepiping is so arranged that only apartial breakdown is possible, asall is in duplicate, with exceptionof the steam main, which, how-ever, by valves is divided intosections, so that if anythingshould happen to one of the sections, the rest can beoperated. The floor of the boiler room is laid with concrete andthat of the engine room, office, etc., with hard wood, oiled.The railings in the engine room are of brass, highlypoli.shed, giving it a very handsome appearance. The office and machine shop is on a level with engineroom floor and opens directly into the engine room. Belowthe office is the oil room, which is fireproof throughout,and above the office is the .storage room and lavatory. Thelatter is furnished with all conveniences, including lockersfor the employes. The cliinmey, the base of which is in the boiler room.
