eep,located in the vicinity (jf the station. In the engine room are two 150 H. P. Corliss engines, The engines are connected by 22 in. belting with two150 II. P. Westinghouse generators imported from theInited States. The switchboard is of marble and isfitted with Westinghouse appliances throughout. Wurtslightning arresters are used on the line, in the powerhouse and on the cars, and there is also a tank lightningarrester in the power house. The station wiring is all of0000 solid copper wire placed overhead in plain sight. The company owns a fine car house, 45 ft. x 130 ft.,built of brick with stone foundations. This is located atGrimsby village. It is entered by three tracks, one ofAvhich is provided with a pit for inspection. In the backof the car house is a store-room and work-shop. In the city of Hamilton the company has just put up arailway station and freight house, which will be a val-uable addition to the property, as it is arranged forespecial convenience in handling freight.

STANDARD DOUBLE TRUCK CAR-H. G. &B. ELECTRIC RAILWAY.The company owns eight 28 ft. and 36 ft. double truckcars, each equipped with two 30 H. P. No. 12 Westinghousemotors, and four single truck 16 ft. and 18 ft. trail cars, used for freight. Some of thesecars are combination, and thecompany has also purchasedcars exclusively for freightand similar in general ap-pearance to a railroad boxfreight car. McGuire andTaylor trucks are used having;^^Ti in. wheels with 3-4 in.flange and 3 1-2 in. tread.The long cars are lightedwith twelve incandescentlights. The coffee-pot farebox is used. The snowequipment consists of asingle Walkaway plow, which has so far been all thatis necessary for this purpose. The company uses 28 and 30 ft. wood and iron poles,bracket construction.
