About ten years ago the idea was agi-tated of doubling tramway tracks on ouravenue lines, reserving the two centraltracks for express cars and using the side cars of the Broadway line, and was finishedin a very handsome manner; but thedifficulty of doubling the tracks and thelack of popularity with same experimentalcars caused the abandonment of the plan.

Having had large ex-perience in this, the designer is able togive our readers the one giving the bestsatisfaction, and readily being adopted bythose using a more complicated harness.This, also, will answer the purpose of agood plow harness. The trimmings usedare X silver, or Japan, and occasionallysolid brass, with close plate bit, and hames,but this adds quite an expense. Bridle.—£ in. patent leather blinds, withfancy patent leather, or harness leatherfront. Nose piece sewed in cheek, with astitched winker brace. Nickel rosettes. Collar and Hames. —Irish collar, ticklined, high top, red, Concord hames, withflat iron back, J x 3-16 iron, with No. 5,open bell, fastened to hame strap. Traces.—6 ft. long to the chain, lj in.two solid pieces, with 36 in. chain. Back Pad.—Single, 3 in. wide, with bil-let to buckle around the trace. Belly Band.—Folded, and buokled onboth sides, billet fastened to the tracebuckl
