Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Royal Scotsman branded coach, Kyle of Lochalsh ferry terminal, 26 April 1986.jpg |
English: A coach pictured in April 1986 at the ferry terminal at Kyle of Lochalsh in the Scottish Highlands. It wears the name 'The Royal Scotsman', which suggests that it is on a long term charter to The Royal Scotsman, a private leisure train launched in May 1985 which tours all around Scotland, and which still (as of 2011) has the Kyle of Lochalsh as one of its destinations, on its "Country Homes & Gardens" package. Perhaps the coach is used to transport passengers to such homes or gardens, or to some other point of interest on the Isle of Skye which is the destination of the ferry (the Kyle of Lochalsh railway station is located right next to the ferry terminal, but with the opening of the Skye Bridge in 1995, the ferry became redundant.) |
