Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe Road To Nowhere - geograph.org.uk - 60217.jpg |
English: The Road To Nowhere. The junction of Spitalgap Lane on Street Furlong Lane. This used to lead to and from the northbound carriageway of the A1 between Darrington and the M62 junction at Ferrybridge. The road was closed earlier in 2005 to allow for the upgrading of the A1 to the A1(M), part of which you can see on a bridge crossing the old carriageway in the distance to the lefthand side of the picture. Now Street Furlong Lane is no longer a great old backway to and from the A1 in times of congestion, it's simply a back road between Darrington and Carleton / Chequerfield in Pontefract. |
