Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at Dartford - geograph.org.uk - 1515684.jpg |
English: The Queen Elizabeth II bridge is a cable-stayed road bridge in England that crosses the Thames Estuary from the east of Dartford in Kent, to West Thurrock in Essex. It is part of the Dartford Crossing.
Original description: Looking from the Dartford side, the bridge carries southbound traffic across the Thames towards the toll booths on the Kent side of the river. Northbound traffic uses the twin Dartford Tunnels, the air shafts of which can just be seen across the river on the left of the photograph. On the right of the photograph can be seen one of the two pylons carrying power lines across the river - at 630 feet these are the tallest pylons in the UK. |
