Country GentU.man has called forth some remarks from the Editorof the Garden, and as my excellent friend the Editorof the American Gardeners Monthly has previouslyfavoured me with very similar views, I propose toendeavour very briefly to explain exactly what Imean, and for that purpose I enclose a roughsketch (see fig. 25) of a private garden with thecollection grouped in classes and alliances, mainlyafter the system adopted in the Genera Plantarum ofBentham and Hooker. The groups are apportioned, as to size, &c., to thepossibilities of the climate of the Northern UnitedStates. For instance.
