English: The Feuars' Muir - March Stone 8. For the main discussion of these stones, and for an index to the photographs, see 992179.
The visible faces of this stone both bear the letter L. While stones 1 and 2 lie some distance to the southwest, stones 3 to 10 are clustered more closely together, forming the boundary of a piece of land owned by J (see link in first paragraph for explanation). Stone 8, shown here, stands at the SW corner of J's land; see the annotated satellite view (link given in end-note). In the centre background of the photo is Cochno Hill, which rises on the far side of Greenside Reservoir, though the reservoir itself is not visible from this point. Stone 8 stands on a moor that slopes gently towards the south-east. Previous: 992251. Next: 992233. |
